Quilt
Trail |
| If you take
a drive down almost any road in Hancock County, you can see evidence of
our quilt trail. The trail starts up in Ohio and extends down
into Tennessee, where we have numerous quilt squares hanging
on our local barns and other buildings. They are painted on plywood by
local school children and other Sneedville residents. |

Elrod Falls |
Elrod Falls
consists of three cascading falls of more than 100 feet, making it one
of the most gorgeous waterfalls in East Tennessee.
You
can
swim
in the pools at the base of the falls, hike one of the surrounding
trails or bring along a picnic lunch while surrounded by the lush
beauty of the Appalachian Mountains. |

Mahalia
Mullins Cabin |
| Over
Newman's Ridge is Vardy. Located in Vardy is the Vardy Church, built in
1899 and recently renovated. Across the road is the Mahalia Mullins
cabin which has a rich history of the Melungeons that settled this area
in the late 1700's. Vardy is located north on Hwy. 63, over Newman's
Ridge, then turn right on Blackwater Rd. |
